Sungshin began its first international exchange student program in 1968 with Straford University, USA. Since then, Sungshin has built 29 exchange programs in 10 different countries which enable the exchange of students, faculty, and academic studies. Sungshin students can internationally acquire course credits not only through exchange programs, but also by means of cyber-internet courses, and other new methods now available with developing technology.
   
 

 



Tokyo Woman's Christian University Established in 1918, Tokyo Woman's Christian University has a history of more than 80 years of tradition. Presently, Tokyo proudly commands two separate undergraduate programs that spread over 10 different departments, 8 individual graduate programs, and 4,000 students. Sungshin shares an exchange program with Tokyo that serves to benefit both institutions and their female students. Under the common goal of exchanging information and learning about the two cultures and languages, Sungshin has successfully sent students abroad to Japan and accepted Japanese students in summer programs since 1990. Beginning in 1995, Sungshin has been sending one exchange student per year to Tokyo Woman's Christian University and all course credits have been fully accepted at Sungshin.
 
   
 

 



North Park University situated just north of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States, North Park University possesses a history beginning in 1891. North Park has over 7,000 students and 15 different departments, which include a special department focusing on Korean studies. Sungshin established an exchange program in April of 1998 with North Park and is sending 5 exchange students to North Park each year. Sungshinians studying at North Park are responsible for tuition only at Sungshin, while they are qualified to acquire course credits in the United States. All course credits acquired at North Park are accepted at Sungshin.
 
   
 

 



Since May of 1998, California State University, Fresno has developed international exchange student programs with Sungshin. Several Sungshin students participate in the international summer program each year and all credits earned at California State University, Fresno, are transferred to Sungshin. Sungshin has been sending one annual exchange student to California State University, Fresno, since the fall semester of 2002.
 
   
 

 



Taiwan Culture University, located in Taipei and established in 1962, is the best university in Taiwan. The university consists of 12 colleges and officially launched an exchange student program with Sungshin in November of 2001. In 2002, sungshin and Taiwan Culture began exchanging three students on a one-year programs. All course credits obtained from Taiwan Culture University are fully accepted at Sungshin.
 
   
 

 



Since March of 2000, Université de Provence and Sungshin have shared an international exchange program. The Université de Provence facilitates and operates the "Sungshin Center" for incoming exchange faculty and students. Every year, Sungshin sends three exchange students to the Université de Provence to receive formal lectures.
 
   
 

 

The list of Sungshin international exchange partners includes : Huntingdon College, Houston University, University of Colorado at Boulder and University of Hawaii at Hilo in the United States ; University of Victoria in Canada ; Beijing Normal University ; Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shangdong University at WeiHai and the WeiHai Branch School, Shenzhen University, SUN YAT-SEN University and Shanghai Normal University, Hunan Normal University in China ; Beppu University, Tsukuba Gakuin University and Kagawa University in Japan ; Griffith University and RMIT University in Australia ; Universität Gesamthochschule Kassel in Germany ; Universidad Technologica De Santiago in Dominican Republic and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Israel. All of these institutions share a cooperative exchange program with Sungshin.
