Sungshin Women’s University Participates in China International College Student Fashion Week, Proving Its Global Fashion Education Competence.

At this year’s fashion week, students from Sungshin Women’s University’s Department of Fashion Industry and fashion design majors from Hebei University of Science and Technology presented a total of 75 original garments under the theme “Shangshangzhihuá (裳裳者華).” The phrase originates from the Chinese classic Book of Songs and conveys the idea that "elegant attire becomes radiant beauty." The students showcased unique interpretations of this theme, receiving praise from local experts and audiences.

Beyond simple academic exchange, Sungshin Women’s University and Hebei University of Science and Technology have established a robust educational partnership. Since 2013, the two universities have jointly operated a Korea-China collaborative fashion design program, which has produced over 1,100 graduates, including more than 270 who completed a dual-degree course. This program has become a sustainable model for international education cooperation and significantly contributes to enhancing the global competencies of Sungshin students.

Meanwhile, Sungshin Women’s University is further advancing its internationalization strategy through the newly established International School, launched in 2025. Designed exclusively for international students, the school offers majors in Beauty & Fashion Design and Global Korean Studies, providing specialized education tailored to students from diverse cultural backgrounds. This expansion builds upon the university’s existing Korea-China joint programs and lays a strong foundation for a broader global network.

As of the Spring 2025 semester, the university maintains partnerships with 330 institutions in 60 countries and hosts over 1,100 international students from 42 countries and regions. Through these efforts, Sungshin Women’s University is fostering a genuinely global learning environment that promotes active exchange between domestic and international students and cultivates future global leaders.
