Sungshin Women’s University (President President Seong-Keun Yi) will host the 2025 Summer Korea–China–Japan Asian Women’s Leadership Program sequentially in South Korea, Japan, and China from August 7 to August 28, 2025.
This program, one of Sungshin’s flagship internationalization initiatives, has been jointly operated since 2014 with Showa Women’s University in Japan and Shanghai International Studies University in China, with the aim of cultivating women’s leadership. Remarkably, it continued without interruption even during the COVID-19 pandemic and marks its 12th year in 2025.
Over a total of 21 nights and 22 days, the program will be held for 7 nights and 8 days at each location: Sungshin Women’s University in Korea (August 7–14), Showa Women’s University in Japan (August 14–21), and Shanghai International Studies University in China (August 21–28). The curriculum focuses on fostering the qualities of a global female leader through various activities, including:
- English lectures on women’s leadership
- Special lectures by distinguished guest speakers
- Team projects
- Cultural experience programs
All participating students will be awarded an overseas scholarship and granted academic credit.
Meanwhile, Sungshin Women’s University—continuing to grow as a global campus by offering diverse international exchange programs—will also operate other multilateral global initiatives during the summer vacation, including a Korea–ASEAN talent development and cultural exchange program. In addition, the university runs overseas training scholarship programs in a wide range of language regions, including the six official UN languages (Russian, Spanish, Arabic, English, Chinese, and French) as well as Japanese, German, Uzbek, and more, thereby actively supporting students in broadening their global experiences and diversifying their career paths even during the summer break.
In the 2024 University Information Disclosure, Sungshin ranked 10th nationwide and 6th among universities in Seoul for the proportion of credit exchanges with foreign universities, achieving a rate of 21.2% compared to its freshman enrollment capacity.
