The host universities for this program were selected through ▲a comprehensive evaluation of curriculum management ▲student support services ▲internationalization capacity. Sungshin Women’s University received high marks across all categories, recognized for its strong global education infrastructure, academic capacity, and extensive support for international students.
This program is a scholarship initiative for outstanding Japanese exchange students, who are selected through a rigorous screening process conducted jointly by their home universities in Japan and Korea’s National Institute for International Education (NIIED). Final awardees receive round-trip airfare and an annual stipend of KRW 13.2 million, while host universities are provided tuition support of up to KRW 5 million per semester per student.
Since 2023, Sungshin has participated in the Korea–Japan Joint Higher Education Student Exchange Program (Undergraduate Short-Term Course), consistently attracting and supporting outstanding Japanese exchange students. Building on this new selection, the university plans to further strengthen academic and cultural exchange with leading Japanese universities, provide systematic Korean language and culture education, and expand opportunities for Sungshin students to study abroad in Japan—contributing to the qualitative growth of bilateral exchange programs.
