Mr. Seungwoo Hong, Assistant Manager of the International Exchange Support Team at Sungshin Women’s University, received the Seoul Metropolitan Government Mayor’s Commendation on December 15, 2025, in recognition of his contributions to securing outstanding talent for Seoul through the promotion of international student and global industry talent recruitment.

The “2025 Seoul Metropolitan Government Commendation for Contributions to Attracting International Students and Global Industry Talent” is an official award presented by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to citizens who have contributed to strengthening Seoul’s global competitiveness by attracting international students and skilled foreign professionals.

Mr. Hong has been responsible for recruiting and managing international students in the International Exchange Support Team. Through stable operation of comprehensive support services—including immigration and residency management, academic and daily life adjustment support, and career and employment linkage—he has strengthened the university’s internationalization foundation and contributed to the successful settlement of international students.

In addition, by carrying out duties related to the Ministry of Education’s International Education Quality Assurance System (IEQAS) and the annual survey on international student recruitment and management, he has overseen internationalization indicators and administrative affairs for international students, contributing to Sungshin Women’s University maintaining the highest rating (Excellent Certification) for 11 consecutive years.

He has also handled immigration and residency administration for international students, supported career and employment programs in cooperation with related organizations such as the Seoul Global Center and KOTRA, and worked to institutionalize student-led campus events and community service activities through the establishment of the International Student Association (SISA), in which both Korean and international students participate.

Furthermore, he was in charge of practical operations related to the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s regional visa pilot program, carried out residency management for international students, and, as the administrator of the Foreign Student Information Management System (FIMS), oversaw immigration and residency administration, thereby advancing the university’s administrative system for international student management to a higher level.
