Sungshin Women’s University (President Yi Seong-keun) held the “International Student Short-Form Contest – Sungshin, Action!”, where international students planned and produced short-form videos to share their campus life experiences. An awards ceremony for the winning entries took place on January 16 in Room 110 of Sungshin Hall on the Soojung Campus.

The contest was designed to capture the daily lives and academic experiences of international students at Sungshin Women’s University from their own perspectives and to share these stories with members of the university community and prospective international students. A total of 23 teams of international students participated, representing diverse nationalities and programs, including undergraduate and graduate degree students, exchange students, and language trainees currently enrolled at the university.

Through short, visually engaging video content, the submissions naturally portrayed Sungshin Women’s University as seen through the eyes of students from various cultural backgrounds—featuring classroom scenes, everyday campus life, and small yet meaningful moments of studying in Korea. The works were praised for vividly conveying the campus’s vibrant atmosphere and the authentic study-abroad experiences of international students.

Following a rigorous evaluation process, awards were presented to one Grand Prize team, three Excellence Prize teams, and five Merit Prize teams. The Grand Prize was awarded to Team “Allyz,” composed of students from Mongolia and Vietnam. The winning entries, including the Grand Prize work, along with selected submissions, were released on the official Instagram account of the International Student Association (SISA) (@sungshin_sisa). These videos serve as valuable materials for current students and prospective international applicants to gain an indirect glimpse into real study-abroad life at Sungshin Women’s University.

The International Affairs and Services Team, which organized the contest, stated, “This event is particularly meaningful in that international students were not merely participants but active creators who expressed their own experiences through content production. We will continue to provide opportunities for exchange where international students can feel a sense of belonging as members of the campus community and naturally share their cultures with one another.”

Meanwhile, Sungshin Women’s University—selected for 11 consecutive years as an “Excellent Certified University” under the International Education Quality Assurance System—currently hosts 1,619 international students from 42 countries. The university operates a comprehensive support system covering the entire process from recruitment and education to career development and settlement for international students.
