International Students taking a group photo at the Sungshin Global Festival
On May 8, Sungshin Women’s University held the 3rd Sungshin Global Festival (SGF) on the lawn in front of Sungshin Hall at the Soojung Campus.
The Sungshin Global Festival is an interactive cultural event where international students studying at Sungshin Women’s University introduce and share their home cultures with fellow students through hands-on experiences and performances. This year’s festival featured three main sections: Cultural & Art Experience Booths, International Food Booths, and Global Performances.

A total of 11 teams representing 10 countries participated in the Cultural & Art Experience Booths and International Food Booths, which were entirely planned and operated by international students. The booths offered a variety of activities, including traditional games, craft-making experiences, snack tasting, traditional costume and makeup experiences, and photo zones. Students and visitors had the opportunity to experience the everyday cultures of countries that are not commonly encountered on campus, including Egypt, Ecuador, Mexico, Myanmar, and Mongolia, making the festival especially meaningful.

The Global Performance stage featured 13 teams from 7 countries, presenting a diverse range of performances such as Korean mask dance by the central student club Hwimori, guitar and pop music performances by students from the Department of Contemporary Music, traditional and K-POP fusion dance performances by Mongolian students, folk dance performances by Myanmar students, contemporary creative dance by Vietnamese students, K-POP dance performances by Brazilian students, and hip-hop performances by Chinese students. Approximately 600 members of the Sungshin community gathered on the lawn to enjoy the festival together.
Dr. Hyung-min Lee, Dean of the Internal and External Affairs, stated, “This event is particularly meaningful in that students personally prepared and introduced their own cultures. We will continue to expand programs that encourage both international and Korean students at Sungshin Women’s University to participate and engage together.”
As of the first semester of 2026, Sungshin Women’s University hosts 1,689 international students from 42 countries and regions, including 965 language training students, 534 undergraduate students, and 190 graduate students. Through a variety of international exchange programs, the university continues to support students from diverse cultural backgrounds in building mutual understanding and meaningful connections during their academic life in Korea.
