Sungshin Women's University (President Sungkeun Yi) successfully hosted the "2026 ASEAN–KOREA Cultural Exchange for Future Talent" during the summer vacation in collaboration with Thammasat University in Thailand and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.

Running from July 2 to July 23 across South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, the three-week program brought together 30 students from Sungshin Women's University, Thammasat University, and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. Funded by the 2026 University Innovation Support Project, the program was conducted in English and enhanced global competencies, cross-cultural communication, and teamwork through academic lectures, cultural activities, and field trips.

In South Korea, the curriculum featured English-language lectures on AI, political diplomacy, and national branding, as well as traditional Hanbok and tea ceremony experiences, K-beauty workshops, and student-led field trips. In Thailand, students attended history and culture lectures alongside traditional cultural activities. In Vietnam, the program offered courses on diplomatic policy, Korea-ASEAN cooperation, and Vietnamese culture, complemented by a field trip to Ha Long Bay.

Kim So-young, a senior majoring in English Language and Literature at Sungshin Women's University, shared, "The most memorable part was taking classes and experiencing different cultures while freely interacting with students from each country. It was a meaningful time to understand Thai and Vietnamese cultures through the eyes of local students and to broaden my perspective on the global stage."

Sungshin Women's University will continue to expand multilateral joint educational programs with leading overseas universities to actively support our students in becoming global leaders who excel on the world stage."

Meanwhile, Sungshin Women's University is steadily expanding its multilateral global education initiatives beyond traditional bilateral exchanges. By running programs such as the Korea-China-Japan Asian Women's Leadership Program, the ASEAN–KOREA Cultural Exchange for Future Talent, and the Korea-Central Asia STEM Youth Exchange Program, the university provides an international educational environment where students can learn, discuss, and collaborate in English. 

Through these efforts, Sungshin Women's University remains committed to nurturing future talent equipped with global leadership, international communication skills, cultural empathy, and collaborative capabilities.
