
On July 30, 2026, Professor Changil Yoo, Director of the Korea-Poland Cooperation Center at the University of Silesia in Poland, visited Sungshin Women’s University to discuss opportunities for strengthening institutional ties and expanding future academic cooperation between the two universities.
The meeting took place at Woonjung Green Campus and was attended by representatives from Sungshin Women’s University, including Hyunjin So, Dean of the Office of International and External Affairs; Junghyun Chae, Dean of Academic Affairs; Professor Uiseok Han from the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy; Professor Mikyung Jang from the International School of Korean Culture and Technology; Il Kim, Head of the International Affairs and Services Team; and Hyunkyung Jeong from the International Affairs and Services Team.

The meeting opened with introductions to the two universities and an overview of the main agenda, followed by a presentation by Professor Yoo. In particular, the discussion focused on the Silesian Science Festival and opportunities for academic and institutional engagement associated with the event. Both sides exchanged perspectives on how such international initiatives could contribute to strengthening cooperation and fostering broader academic connections between the two institutions.

Building on these discussions, representatives also explored possibilities for further expanding international academic exchange. Potential areas of future cooperation included the development of dual degree opportunities and other forms of academic partnership designed to promote greater student and institutional engagement.
Following the formal discussions, the participants exchanged commemorative gifts and continued their conversation over a meal, providing an additional opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and reinforce the relationship between the two universities.

The visit served as a meaningful occasion to reaffirm the shared interest of Sungshin Women’s University and the University of Silesia in broadening their partnership. Sungshin Women’s University looks forward to expanding opportunities for academic exchange and developing a more diverse and sustainable framework for cooperation with the University of Silesia in the years ahead.
