Part-time Work

Subject Conditions

Criteria	Requirement
Length of stay	Six months have passed since the date of change of residence status (the date of entry for visa holders)
Attendance	The attendance rate is over 90% on average for the entire semester of completion
Korean proficiency	Test of Proficiency in Korean TOPIK (Level 2 or higher)

※ Students wishing to get a part-time job should consult with the person in charge of the Korean Language Institute.

Allowed Working Hour

Within 20 hours per week, including weekends, holidays, and vacation periods during the semester
A person who meets the Korean language proficiency standard* for part-time employment permit and is a certified university is allowed to do an additional 5 hours during the week
A person who fails to meet the Korean language proficiency standards shall be allowed within 10 hours regardless of whether he/she is enrolled in a certified university

Required Documents

1	Application form, passport, alien registration card, grade or attendance certificate
2	Evidence of Korean proficiency (topic transcripts with expiration date are also recognized)
3	Foreign student part-time employment confirmation letter (written by the person in charge of international student at university)
4	Certificate of compliance with the requirements for part-time employment for foreign students and a copy of the employer's ID card
5	Copy of Business Registration Certificate
6	Copy of the standard labor contract (including hourly pay, work details, and hours)

Details of Permission

Limited to a maximum of one place within six months of stay

Change location

If the place of work changes, you must obtain a part-time work permit again

Employment without permission	First detection	Permission to stay after disposition of notification if the degree of violation is minor ※ In the case where an international student who has been caught for the first time and is permitted to stay after disposition of notification has applied for a part-time work permit, the grades, Korean proficiency, attendance rate, etc. are comprehensively judged to determine whether to grant permission ※ In the case of illegal employment in the construction industry, an order to leave the country without exception, regardless of the number of detections
