- Introduction to Global Korean Studies Major

The Global Korean Studies major is designed to cultivate global talents equipped to promote the Korean language,
culture, and K-contents on a global stage, reflecting the rising international prominence of Korean culture and language.
This program is structured into two specialized tracks: the "Korean Education Track" and the "K-Culture & Entertainment Track.“
Korean Education Track: Focused on training experts capable of teaching the Korean language and culture to learners
both domestically and internationally.
K-Culture & Entertainment Track: Designed to nurture professionals who can thrive in the cultural and entertainment
industries, leveraging a deep understanding of globally acclaimed K-contents such as K-dramas, K-movies, K-literature,
and K-pop.
- The focal points of education
-
- ①Develop expertise in Korean language education by mastering professional knowledge across the field, based on a precise understanding and fluent usage of the Korean language, enabling students to work as Korean language education specialists in diverse teaching environments.
- ②Gain practical experience as prospective Korean language instructors through internships at various educational sites, including Sungshin Women’s University Korean Language Institute and overseas King Sejong Institutes.
- ③Acquire professional knowledge of the entertainment industry, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of Korean culture and K-contents, to thrive as specialists in the K-Culture & Entertainment sector.
- ④Build the ability to plan content suitable for various entertainment industries and media platforms by understanding global content consumption trends, contributing to the expansion of market potential for K-contents.
- ⑤Students in the School of Korean Culture and Technology are guided to explore various academic disciplines, identify areas of interest, and pursue advanced research through graduate studies in their chosen fields.
