Sungshin Women’s University (Acting President Wonho Lee) hosted a series of international exchange, academic, and cultural events from July 4 to 5 at Hebei University of Science and Technology in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, China.

The events were organized in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Hebei University of Science and Technology, which has jointly operated the Korea–China Cooperative Fashion Design Program with Sungshin Women’s University for the past fourteen years since 2013.

On July 4, an event titled “International Exchange Night” brought together representatives from Sungshin Women’s University and Hebei University of Science and Technology, as well as faculty members, alumni, and students participating in Korea–China cooperative programs. The gathering also included representatives from Hebei University of Communication and Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, both of which jointly operate the Korea–China Cooperative Music Performance Program with Sungshin Women’s University. The event served as an opportunity to reaffirm Sungshin’s growing stature as a globally engaged university and to strengthen networks among partner institutions.

On July 5, Sungshin Women’s University and Hebei University of Science and Technology jointly hosted the “Craftsmanship and Smart Connection: Hebei University of Science and Technology–Sungshin Women’s University AI Fashion Forum” and a student discussion session in commemoration of the university’s 70th anniversary. Participants explored innovative approaches to global fashion and arts education in the era of artificial intelligence and discussed future directions for academic collaboration.

In addition, a commemorative sculpture specially commissioned by Sungshin Women’s University was presented to mark the 70th anniversary of Hebei University of Science and Technology in recognition of its contributions to the expansion of Korea–China cooperative academic programs beyond fashion design into fields such as makeup design and music performance. The two institutions also jointly organized a special exhibition under the theme “Seventy Years of Excellence, United by the Craftsmanship of Two Universities,” highlighting the achievements of their educational partnership, which has produced more than 1,000 graduates and over 270 dual-degree recipients over the past fourteen years.

Acting President Wonho Lee stated, “This event provided a meaningful opportunity to reaffirm the strong trust and partnership we have built with leading universities in Hebei Province and to witness the achievements of our alumni who are actively contributing in China.” He added, “Building upon our successful collaboration in the arts, we will actively expand our partnership into applied sciences and industry-academia cooperation, including fields such as biomaterials development and functional food research.”

Sungshin Women’s University has continued to strengthen its global engagement and comprehensive international student support system, earning the highest accreditation under the Korean Ministry of Education’s International Education Quality Assurance System (IEQAS) for twelve consecutive years.
