Sungshin Women’s University Welcomes Faculty Delegation from the University of Lodz to Discuss Academic Exchange Opportunities

SEOUL, June 9, 2026 — Sungshin Women’s University (SSU) welcomed a faculty delegation from the University of Lodz in Poland to its Woonjeong Campus on June 9 to introduce the two institutions and discuss potential areas for future academic exchange and research cooperation.

The University of Lodz is one of the largest public comprehensive universities in Poland. The visiting delegation included Professor Dominik Mierzejewski, Head of the Department of Asian Studies, and Professor Joanna Beczkowska of the Department of Asian Studies, Faculty of International and Political Studies.

Representing Sungshin Women’s University were Lee Hyung-min, Vice President for International and External Affairs; Professor Jang Mi-kyung of the Division of International Studies; and a staff member from the Office of International Affairs and Services.

The visit began with a campus tour of Woonjeong Campus, during which the delegation visited the Sungshin Women’s University Costume Museum and Art Gallery. The tour provided an opportunity for the visitors to learn more about SSU’s educational environment, cultural resources, and academic facilities.

Following the tour, representatives from both universities held a meeting to exchange information on their respective institutions and explore potential areas of cooperation. The discussion focused on academic exchange programs, possible research collaboration, and future opportunities for partnership in areas related to Asian studies and international education.

Through this visit, Sungshin Women’s University and the University of Lodz reaffirmed their shared interest in expanding international academic networks and exploring meaningful opportunities for future cooperation between Korea and Poland.
