The 13th President of Sungshin Women's University

The mission of a university is research and education, and the social service that results from them. Since its founding by President Lee Suk-jong in 1936, Sungshin Women's University has worked tirelessly to achieve this mission.
Starting with the College of Education, Sungshin has expanded to include the College of Humanities, College of Social Sciences, College of Natural Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Fine Arts, and College of Music, becoming a truly world-class university that spans a wide range of disciplines.
Even as times change, the university's core functions remain research, education, and social service. However, in this changing era, what to and how to teach and conduct research has become an important agenda.
In a changing world, the methodology of traditional higher education is being challenged. Our university is no exception. One of the major trends in higher education is the integration of academic disciplines. Solving society’s complex problems through diverse approaches rather than relying on a single method or perspective will be a major value of our time.
I believe that having a long history does not mean remaining within it, but rather that we are changing and shaping it. Our Sungshin strives to become the leading force in boldly creating a new history.
The goal of Sungshin is to become a university of meaningful significance in the world.
Please keep an eye on the transformation of Sungshin and support us.
Thank you.
