Delegation from Shaktikhor Ever Vision School in Nepal Visits Sungshin Women’s University
On April 10, 2025, Sungshin Women’s University hosted a delegation from Shaktikhor Ever Vision School, located in Chitwan Province, Nepal. The visit took place from 11:00 to 13:30 at the Grand Conference Room on the 7th floor of Building B, Woonjung Campus.
The delegation comprised three school representatives—Mr. Bal Krishna Bhattarai (Director), Mr. Rupesh Thapa (Principal), and Ms. Anjali Dhakal (Teacher)—along with seven students. Mr. Daeho Lee, Manager from Korea Food for the Hungry International, also accompanied the group.
The purpose of the visit was to explore potential academic collaboration and introduce the university’s programs for international students. The event began with mutual introductions and a university promotional video, followed by a detailed presentation on Sungshin Women’s University and discussions on future exchange possibilities. The session concluded with a commemorative photo and gift exchange.
Following the meeting, the delegation had lunch at the student cafeteria and participated in a campus tour, visiting the university’s Art Gallery, Costume Museum, and Natural History Museum.
Shaktikhor Ever Vision School, founded in 2013 through a local NGO initiative (CDP project), aims to expand educational opportunities for children in the Shaktikhor area—approximately 150km from Kathmandu. The school serves 213 students from kindergarten to high school, staffed by 21 teachers. All subjects are taught in English.
Despite its commitment to comprehensive education, the school faces challenges such as limited financial resources, a shortage of specialized teachers, and insufficient classroom space. In response, it seeks support through international volunteer programs and specialized extracurricular activities, including music, arts, computer education, and second language instruction. The school is also focused on initiatives such as coding education, Korean language instruction, and a one-on-one tutoring program with Korean high school students.
The visit served as a meaningful opportunity to strengthen mutual understanding and lay the groundwork for future cooperation between the two institutions.
