In August 2024, during the “Korea-Japan Joint Higher Education Student Exchange Program – Undergraduate Short-Term Course,” university staff and Japanese students from Sungshin Women’s University gathered for a commemorative photo.
Sungshin Women’s University has been selected as a participating institution for the “2025 Korea-Japan Student Exchange Program,” organized by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) under the Ministry of Education.
Launched in 2024, the Korea-Japan Student Exchange Program aims to enhance educational cooperation and mutual understanding between young people in Korea and Japan. The program provides scholarships to exchange students recommended by domestic universities.
Through this selection, Sungshin Women’s University will dispatch 34 students to 16 partner universities in Japan during the second semester, beginning in September. Among them, five students will be nominated as scholarship candidates by the university. Final scholarship recipients, selected through NIIED’s review process, will receive a monthly stipend of 700,000 KRW and round-trip airfare for one semester.
Meanwhile, Sungshin Women’s University was also selected for the “Korea-Japan Joint Higher Education Student Exchange Program – Undergraduate Short-Term Course” for the fourth consecutive year in January. From August, the university will host 20 Japanese students selected from 16 Japanese partner universities, including Kansai University, Rikkyo University, and Hosei University, for approximately three weeks. The program will be conducted under the theme “Personal Styling through K-Culture.” Having been selected for both the exchange program for two consecutive years and the short-term course, Sungshin Women’s University continues to solidify its role as a central hub for Korea-Japan youth exchange.
