Sungshin Women s University (President Yi Seong-Keun) held the Korea China Friendship University Concert on October 29 at Hebei University of Communication in China.This concert commemorated the launch of the joint bachelor s degree program in Music Performance (Vocal) , co-operated by Sungshin Women s University and Hebei University of Communication, which officially began in September and welcomed its first cohort of 42 students. Faculty members and students from both universities participated in the event.The Music Performance (Vocal) major jointly operated by Sungshin and Hebei University of Communication is a dual-degree (3+1) program officially approved by China s Ministry of Education. Students spend three years at Hebei University studying Korean language and major courses designed by Sungshin Women s University, and then complete their final year at Sungshin s College of Music in Korea. Upon graduation, they receive bachelor s degrees from both universities.This Korea China joint program is the result of sustained exchange and cooperation between the two universities since establishing a sisterhood relationship in 2018. It is regarded as a leading example of higher education collaboration between Korea and China in the field of arts education. Through this program, Sungshin Women s University aims to nurture vocal music professionals with both global perspectives and practical competencies by combining Korea s advanced music education system with China s strong artistic infrastructure.President Yi Seong-Keun stated, The full-scale operation of the Korea China Joint Music Performance (Vocal) Program represents a new model of international cooperation through the arts.
